Imagine yourself in an island paradise. You can hear the trickling of a waterfall. Smell the pineapples in the air. You are greeted with a lei and a smile. And you enjoy fresh pressed Kona coffee with macadamia nut pancakes.
Imagine yourself in an island paradise. You can hear the trickling of a waterfall. Smell the pineapples in the air. You are greeted with a lei and a smile. And you enjoy fresh pressed Kona coffee with macadamia nut pancakes.
Then you need to go to the Kona Café in the Polynesian Resort!
Tucked away at the Polynesian, is a wonderful restaurant for breakfast, lunch or dinner. This lovely restaurant features great Hawaiian style breakfast foods – beyond your normal breakfast fare.
Take, for example, the macadamia nut pancakes. These huge pancakes come to you with pineapple sauce, your choice of meat – and an amazing macadamia nut butter. (My husband said that, with the macadamia nut butter – you didn’t even need the syrup!)
Or how about a fruit plate? Now, this may sound small – but the fruit comes to you with half a pineapple as a bowl! Included are grapes, kiwi, bananas, pineapples, and other great fresh fruit – along with some amazing banana bread.
But the star of the show at Kona CafĂ© is the Tonga Toast. This isn’t your normal French toast. It is banana stuffed sourdough bread, rolled in cinnamon sugar, and served with a strawberry compote. Amazing!
And don’t forget to ask for a pot of freshly pressed 100% Kona coffee!
