Vegetarian and Vegan Meals at Disneyland
Vegetarian and Vegan Eats at Disneyland
This topic is important to me because I have certain health issues that require me to watch what I eat. As a Disneyland Annual Passholder for quite some time, I can happily report that the resort has been updating their menus with vegetarian and vegan options in the past few years.
On a side note, there are so many new dining options that I will have to write a whole other article about vegetarian and vegan eating at California Adventure at a later date.
Main Street U.S.A.
Carnation Cafe- Huevos Rancheros, Spinach and Egg White Frittata, Fruit Parfait, House Salad with your choice of salad dressing, Chef’s Vegan burger (but, it is not vegan with the chipotle-mayo, just ask them to leave it off)
Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe– Soy Latte (yes, this in one of the only places at the resort where you can get soy milk!), muffins and breads, Caprese Sandwich (tomatoes, mozzarella, basil, lettuce and vinagirette on toasted foccaccia), and for vegans the Grilled Vegetable and Whole Grain Salad ( seasonal vegetables and mixed greens with barley, spelt and a basil vinaigrette)
Plaza Inn– Garden Vegetable Salad Cups (lettuce, carrots, tomatoes and choice of dressing) and this is really more snack size just to warn you
Bengal BBQ- Vegetable skewers (vegan, but they do share a grill with meat), cheese-filled pretzels, yogurt parfait
River Belle Terrace- Vegetable Po’ Boy with a side dish of lentil salad ( it comes with baked beans, but they have lard), peanut butter and jelly sandwich, fresh fruit plate for breakfast
Tiki Hut– the world famous Dole Whip!
Tropical Imports- fresh fruit, hummus and pretzel dip
Troubadour Tavern- Baked Potato with broccoli and cheese (and yes, these are meal size!)
Village Haus– Veggie Burger (vegans, it is possible the bun has dairy)
Rancho del Zocalo– Veggie Burrito (ask for burrito or tacos with veggies instead of meat/chicken and it’s vegan), Tostada Salad (also ask for veggies instead of meat/chicken)
New Orleans Square
Blue Bayou- Portobello Mushroom and Cous Cous Maque Choux (rumor has it this is excellent, by the way)
Cafe Orleans- Creole Ratatouille (vegan if you ask for no cheese), Pommes Frites (vegan if you ask for no parmesan cheese), Mickey Beignets, Monte Cristo Sandwich (vegetarian if you ask for cheese only)
French Market- Four Cheese Pasta and Vegetable Gratin
Royal Street Veranda- Vegetarian Gumbo (a yummy vegan gumbo of rice, onion, okra and tomatoes served in a sourdough bread bowl- this is my favorite vegan eat at the resort)
Harbour Galley- Vegetarian Chili (might want to make sure they don’t throw cheese on there if you are looking for a vegan meal)
Hungry Bear Restaurant- Big Al’s Salad (order without chicken- also, it is supposed to be dairy free but I had a reaction after eating it so I would suggest double checking if you are vegan), Veggie Burger, Sweet Potato Fries, Onion Rings and a terrific Fried Green Tomato Sandwich
Red Rockett Pizza Port- Cheese pizza, a variety of salads that can be ordered without meat (the Chinese Chicken Salad sans chicken, for example, is great and so is the Field of Greens Salad without cheese if you are vegan)
Disneyland carts also have some yummy vegetarian and vegan options such as the popcorn (vegan), mickey pretzels (vegan) and frozen lemonade and fruit bars (also vegan).
Happy meat-free eating!
pineapple, grapes, bananas, hummus and pretzels
