Road trips are always fun…for the first hour! After an hour (or less), little one’s begin to get bored and start with the, “Are we there yet?” and “I have to pee!” etc.
To make the road trip fun and exciting, I came up with the idea of creating a “Disney” themed, road trip goody bags, complete with activities to keep the little one’s somewhat occupied.
You can find many wonderful Disney themed items at Michael’s crafts stores, Dollar Tree, Target (check the $1 section in the front of the store), Wal-mart, Wal-Greens and Hobby Lobby.
I found the tote bags, in the photograph at Michael’s for $5. You could also do a smaller goody bag and use a simple sand bucket. I had the tote’s personalized with my children’s names, to add to the cuteness factor!
I purchased the following items for the goody bags: Disney themed tee shirt (perfect for wearing once you arrive at your destination), Disney themed crayons, coloring books, sticker books, activity books (dot to dot, mazes, etc) and a Disney themed flash light and glow sticks which are perfect for evenings at the parks! I also added a mini etch-a-sketch and small plush stuffed animal (Mickey) which I found at Target. See Disney Diva’s other great tips on what to bring here, which you can also include in your goody bags. I would also recommend adding some more fun with Disney themed snacks, such as Mickey shaped cheese (available at Wal-mart) and crackers, Disney fruit snacks, Disney fruit crisps and you could package some fruit or goldfish in a cute Disney themed Ziploc bags too. Don’t forget to add a Disney sippy-cup for little one’s. Another fun idea (depending on the age of your child), would be to add a disposable camera for your children, to capture the magic from their eye level.
I strongly suggest saving these adorable, road trip goody bags, until the actual day that you are leaving for your vacation. That way, your children will be surprised and have so much fun on the road.

Where/how did you personalize the buckets?
How did you do the letters? I have a cricut but haven’t been able to find that font. Great Idea!!
