I ate at the Carnation Cafe for the first time recently! I thought it was absolutely fantastic and would highly encourage anyone to eat their. So let me break it down: In blue is my review of my favorite dishes. So lets get started!

Starters

Walt’s Chili – Hearty Chili topped with Cheese, Sour Cream, and fresh Tomato. $6.99 This was my choice of a starter it was very good, it had a thick consistency and nice textures. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO PEOPLE WHO DO NOT LIKE SPICY FOOD. Its was quite spicy
Baked Potato Soup – with Bacon, Cheddar, Monterey Jack, Sour Cream, and Chives. $5.99
Fried Pickles with Dipping Sauce – Dill Pickle Spears dipped in Parmesan and Panko, Fried Golden Brown and served with a House Sauce. $5.99
House Salad – Our Special Lettuce Blend, Cucumbers, and Red and Yellow Tomatoes with your choice of Dressing. $5.49

Entree Salads

Warm Spinach Salad with Grilled Chicken – Grilled Chicken, Spinach, Boiled Eggs, Sauteed Shitake Mushrooms, and Pickled Onions tossed with Warm Pancetta-Mustard Seed Vinaigrette. $14.99
Romaine Salad with Shrimp – Succulent Shrimp, Romaine, Avocado, Red and Yellow Tomatoes, Hickory-smoked Bacon, and Blue Cheese with Creamy Ranch. $14.99 One of my friends was with me she purchased this and said it was the best salads of her life! Her recommendation was to ask for no avocado because it over powered the rest of the salad.

Cafe Specialties

served with your choice of fresh Fruit or Seasoned French Fries
Green Chile Cheeseburger – Angus Chuck Patty, Manchego Cheese, Roasted Poblano Chile, Tomato, Lettuce, Fried Egg, and House Sauce on Toasted Brioche. $14.99 This looked really good on other peoples plates

So the Carnation Cafe is a inexpensive place to eat with homestyle cooking and wonderful ambiance. We ate outside and with the restaurant right on main street got to see some very cool sights. I saw many people celebrating birthdays which also looked like a lot of fun! So all in all i would say that Carnation Cafe is a good pit stop if you are looking for a casual sit down dining restaurant.
I would say a reservation isn’t necessary but if you are going to go during a busy season DEFINITELY do because it will fill up fast!
