How would you like to do a little shopping, go bowling, catch a movie,  go for dinner, and / or have some fun and entertainment by various activities separate from the Disney Parks in Disney’s very own small city?  If you said yes, then Downtown Disney is the place for you ! Downtown Disney is located on Village Lake off of I-4 North East of Typhoon Lagoon and South East of Port Orleans resorts and has its own flare and charm. Depending where your resort stay is, it is accessible by car, taxi, bus, and even boat.

There is something for all age groups at Downtown Disney, but the kiddos will love it for a few reasons:1) World of Disney which has anything and everything of unique Disney merchandise. All your favorite Disney characters can be found here from snow globes, magnets, clothing, Cd’s, DVD’s, housewares,  and plush dolls. It is the largest Disney store with twelve sub-divided rooms:

A) The Great Hall & Rotunda- Popular T-shirts, sweatshirts, adult clothing, park logo merchandise and souvenirs.

B) The Exotic Animal Room- Men’s Clothing.

C) The Enchanted Dining Room- kitchenware, candy, housewares, and more.

D) The Magic Room- Adult sleepwear, slippers, & bath items.E) The Villains Room- Watches and jewelry, clocks, collectible pins, and gifts.

F) The Map Room- Disney souvenirs, stationery, decorative figurines, photo, and personalized items.

G) The Bird Room- Women’s apparel collection

H) The Snow White Room- Infant and toddler apparel, children’s bedding, and baby items.

I) The Carnival Room- Heroine children costumes, sleepwear, dolls, bath, and body line.

J) The Wonderland Room- Children’s apparel, souvenirs, books, videos, and plush toys.

K) The Adventure Room- A Pirate theme room where young heroes and heroines can fill treasure chests and skulls with pirate plunder, create their own seafaring hat, interact with audio-animatronics pirate named Rusty and his talking parrot, latest Disney video games to fuel the young adventurers imaginations.L) The Princess Room- Is built to resemble a great hall in a castle, & the classic fairy tale stories of Disney Princesses and Princes.  There is also a creation area to make their tiaras and wands, fill jewelry boxes, and purchase makeup kits.

2) Then another hot spot for the kids is Once upon a Toy. This giant toy store is for the child and child at heart.  Built on the outside with Lincoln logs and Tinker Toys. Inside every Disney licensed toy imaginable, Star Wars droid station customize a droid, build a light saber, video games, miniature Disney monorail toys, and accessories.

3) Ghirardelli Soda Fountain – The shop that features a menu of ice cream shakes, malts, sundaes, and floats.  Also offer fat-free and sugar-free ice cream.

4) Lego Imagination Center- Lego’s galore, almost every type of Lego available here.  Over 3000 square feet of play zone, kits, individual pieces, clothing, and games.

5) Disney Design – A – Tee – Design your own Hanes tee shirt at a reasonable price.

6) Rain Forest Café – Another option for great rain forest dining if you do not want to go to Animal Kingdom’s Rain Forest Café.

7) Earl of Sandwich – Serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with freshly made sandwiches, wraps, and salads.
