Downtown Disney in itself it a full day’s adventure. Shopping, shows and restaurants, Downtown Disney has it all. There are so many places to eat; from awesome sit-down restaurants like Rainforest Café, T-Rex and House of Blues, to great counter services such as Wolfgang Puck Express. One of my absolute favorite and must do restaurants that I recommend to all who ask is Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney. This is a quick service restaurant if you are using the Disney Dining Plan (DDP). It is one of many restaurants to choose from, but it comes highly recommended by many people! It is located on the East side of Downtown Disney next to the Once Upon a Toy and  Disney Days of Christmas. It specializes in hot submarine sandwiches, salads and other food products.  If you happen to pass by, you most likely will see a line out the door, but don’t let this dissuade you. The line moves quite fast and your sandwiches are made to order. We actually arrived around lunch time so it was packed! We waited about 20 minutes to order and then another 10 on the food. They give you buzzers after you order so you can find a table, get your drinks and sit for a few before they bring your food to the counter, and let me tell you, it’s hot and fresh!! Your food is automatically wrapped “to go” in case you are taking it back to your resort. If you are lucky enough to find a table, then enjoy while you are there!!

They have a variety of different sandwiches and all are $6.49 or less. I ordered the Earl’s Club (my staple and favorite hot sandwich), which is Roast turkey, bacon, swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato and it is made on their own signature Artisan bread. Their bread is baked fresh every day. This sandwich does not disappoint. If sandwiches aren’t your thing, keep in mind they offer many gluten-free options, along with salads and even breakfast!! They have their own brand of chips and all-you-can-drink fountain machine.

My husband ordered the Thai Chicken Salad, which includes field greens, grilled chicken, Chinese cabbage, sweet chili sauce, wontons & Thai peanut dressing. It was also very good and I recommend if you are looking for something lighter. The salads are made to order as well.

My twins opted for the side dish of Mac ‘N’ Cheese and it was absolutely delicious (of course I had to try it).

Earl of Sandwich was founded in 2004 by John Montagu, his son Orlando Montagu, and businessman Robert Earl, who is also the founder of Planet Hollywood. Downtown Disney’s restaurant was the first Earl of Sandwich to ever open. Other Disney locations are  Downtown Disney in Disneyland and also at Disneyland Resort Paris in Paris, France. Go here for a full list of Earl of Sandwich locations to see if there is one near you. Another fun fact is that you can sign up for their e-club here, and receive a free sandwich upon signing up and a free sandwich, salad or wrap on you birthday!!

So make sure you put Earl of Sandwich on your must do list and let us know if you like it!
