Ever since I was little, I always loved to look at the rides in Disney World, but I never went on the ones I thought were too high, or too fast or overall just too darn scary. To be completely honest, I still have never been on Tower or Terror or Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster because I am a big baby, but I love to see pictures and YouTube clips of how the ride is. However, thanks to a little, ok, A LOT of persuasion from my sister, I conquered the three mountains of  Magic Kingdom! Now, my favorite ride in the Magic Kingdom, and maybe all of Disney World, is Space Mountain. I have a question for you, if you could go on one of these rides right now which one would you choose?

Space Mountain is a Disney classic that just gets better every time you ride it. The twist and turns, ups and downs will make you feel like you are in your very own IMG_3800rocket to the moon! Space Mountain, located in Tomorrowland, opened in WDW in 1975 and is still a fan favorite today. It has been through a major refurbishment in 2009 and is now better than ever. Tip: This ride is set in the dark so it might not be suitable for the little ones (you must be at least 44” tall to ride). After you enjoy your ride into space, be sure to view your picture that was taken or purchase a souvenir in the gift shop.

DSCN0734Splash Mountain is one of the rides that will make you want to tap your feet and sing along to the theme song “Zip-a-dee-do-dah”. This ride puts you right in the middle of an adventure with Br’er Rabbit, the sneaky Br’er Fox and Br’er Bear from the movie Song of the South. Opened in 1992 and located in Frontierland, Splash Mountain remains a favorite among people of all ages. Between the musical atmosphere, the amazing animatronics, and exciting drops this ride is one not to be missed. The steepest drop is a heart-stopping 50 ft. plunge where you might walk away drenched (you must be at least 40” tall to ride). Tip: If you would like to get wet, sit on the right side of your log.

Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will make you feel like you are part of the Wild Wild West! Opened in 1980 and located in Frontierland,  this ride will surely bring out your inner Cowboy or Cowgirl. Before you get on your train you go through the interactive  queue line which puts you right in the middle of a mining operation set in the 1860’s.  When you get on your train you will experience the wildest ride in the wilderness. Tip: This runaway train is fun for the whole family, however, it might be a little rough for the little princes and princesses (you must be at least 40” tall to ride). If you’re lucky, the Liberty Square Riverboat will be passing as the train is coming around a turn, so be sure to wave to the people on the Riverboat as you pass! 11156135_10202571263641583_5893027138748515537_n

So now that you know a little more about each of these wildly fun thrill rides, I ask you again, Which would you choose?

(Thank you to Darlin’ Diva for the Big Thunder Mountain Photo!)

Hiya Pal! I am a lover of all things Disney! When I am not in Disney World you can find me planning or daydreaming about my next trip there. My all time favorite Disney character is Cogsworth. Remember: "If it's not Baroque, don't fix it!"
