Main Street Diva and Matt at Disney Themed Halloween Party! Matt was the Ghost Host, I was Cruella

By: Main Street Diva

For this article, I decided to do something a little different. I wanted to interview a die-hard Disney fan to see what tips he had for Walt Disney World that I might have not thought of. I interviewed my good friend, Matt, who knows almost everything and anything about Disney (our group of friends call him Walt Jr.!) It was such a fun interview with great tips for your next WDW visit! So, let’s start at the very beginning, a very good place to start:

Q. How long have you been going to WDW and why do you love it?

A. I have been to Disney World 10 times. I just love the atmosphere. I feel like I return home every time I visit. When they say “Welcome Home” I really feel like I am home.

Q. Me too. What is your favorite park and why?

A. I am going to go with the all time classic, everyone’s favorite Magic Kingdom! It’s like the center of the magic, where you can really feel like a kid! It’s the best!

Q. If you have to choose one area of the Magic Kingdom which would it be?

A. Let’s go with the beautiful New Fantasyland. It’s the perfect expansion to the Magic Kingdom.

Q. Any tips for our readers on that area?

A. (Laughs) Get a Fastpass for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train early and everyday you are in the Magic Kingdom. You want to enjoy that great attraction without the long wait.

Q. You heard about all of the changes happening at Animal Kingdom. Do you have any tips for people who are planning their trip during the times when most of the construction is going to happen?

A. The main thing here is, Know Before You Go. What I mean by this is know the pathways around Animal Kingdom, know where the construction is taking place, know when any of your favorite attractions are going to be closed and make sure to be friendly and ask your CM’s if you have any questions.

Q. Any thoughts on the expansion of Soarin’ in Epcot and Toy Story Midway Mania in Hollywood Studios?

A. (Chuckles) Yes! I have many thoughts on that. I think that it is something that is way overdue and much needed in those parks for those attractions. It will speed up lines and make the experiences for those rides more enjoyable.

Q. Since I am the Main Street Diva, I have to ask, do you have any tips for exploring Main Street U.S.A?

A. I know you mentioned this in your past articles but I can’t stress enough, take notice of all of the little things. There is street entertainment, great food, wonderful shops and of course Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom!

Q. What is your favorite quick service restaurant in the Magic Kingdom and why?

A. Pecos Bill, Yahoo! (Laughs) The taco salad there is the best in all of WDW. Yes, Tortuga Tavern is good, but there is something about Pecos Bill that makes it the best in the Wild Wild West, well at least in the Magic Kingdom! I just love the atmosphere. When you look out the windows you have a great view of Splash Mountain. Also, It is a great place to watch Festival of Fantasy. There are really so many great things about Pecos Bill that you would never think about. Yahoo!

Q. On the topic of parades, any tips for our parade lovers?

A. Oh yeah! I’ll tell ya where my favorite spot to watch the parades is…. in the hub just before the Frontierland bridge. Of course there are many great spots on Main Street U.S.A and Frontierland. I would also suggest to pick your spot 30 minutes to and hour before the parade starts depending on the season.
