12011136_10153218622032635_6261684110744943186_nIf you would’ve told me five years ago that one day I would run a race, I would have told you that you were crazy. In high school and college, some of my closest friends loved running. And while I would occasionally accompany them and enjoyed the company, running itself was something I definitely did not consider “fun”.

But when you also have several friends and family members who participate in the runDisney events, and when you’re as big of a Disney fan as I am, eventually the idea starts growing in your head that you should actually do one of the runDisney events. About a year ago, shortly after the Disneyland ½ Marathon weekend, I really started considering running the 5k race. After talking to my husband, we agreed to go, but unfortunately, the date of the 5k didn’t work with his schedule. So instead, I decided to go one step further and run the 10k. The ½ marathon still seemed too daunting to me, but the 10k seemed doable…. More challenging than the 5k, but not as scary sounding as the ½ marathon.

February rolled around and I was able to sign up, and a few weeks later on March 1st, I began my training. Walt Disney’s famous quote, “It’s kind of fun to do the impossible,” became my mantra. True, I still did not love running, but what I did love was the sense of accomplishment I had after each of my practice runs, especially once I began going the full 6.2 miles. And with the help of my friend and running partner, Tania, as well as my cousin, Rachael and mom who ran the Disneyland 10K with me, I began to really enjoy doing something I would’ve thought was impossible.

Shortly before the Disneyland 2015 ½ Marathon weekend, I came across Allied Medal Hangers. I instantly fell in love. I loved all of their designs, but when I found the one with my mantra on it surrounded by castles on each side, I knew that was the one for me.

But my favorite part about my Allied Medal Hanger is that I can now display my medal, along with my children’s medals from the 100m and 200m runDisney kids’ races. After months of dreading running and avoiding my treadmill, I can now workout and stare at something that reminds me of all of my hard work, determination, and the fun that I experienced with my family.

In addition to Allied Medal Hangers craftmanship, they also ship incredibly fast, and wrap their products extremely well. Just look at the packing on this one! And they also come with easy to follow instructions. My husband had it hanging on our bedroom wall in no time.

They also have AMAZING customer service, are super friendly, and get back to you in an extremely timely manner. In fact, I was so impressed with their work, that I also coordinated things with my aunt to order another medal hanger for my mom’s upcoming birthday gift.

My mom has recently embraced running as well (even more so than me), and she lives in the country, complete with her horse and barn. While scrolling through all of Allied Medal Hangers designs, I came across this one, and knew that it would be a perfect way to celebrate my mom’s birthday, as well as the Dumbo Dare. And as an added perk, she could now display all of her medals from her various races.

Coast-To-Coast-PqPYo2Allied Medal Hangers has quite the variety of medal hangers’ styles and sizes to choose from. Some of the other medal hangers I liked, were of course the other Disney-inspired medal hangers, the Star Wars medal hanger, and the medal hanger quoting different Bible verses.

And even if you’re not a runner, you can still find plenty of customizable options to display your other sports’ medals. They also had some fun ones, such as “bling junkie,” “My wall of fame,” or you can even customize the medal hangers to have a fairy or tyranousaurus rex on it!

I also love that all of these medal hangers are customized and made to order. They are so unique, and you can easily find one to fit your personality or own running goal or mantra. And even if your medal hanger is out of stock, Allied Medal Hangers does a great job at quickly producing and shipping your medal hanger to you.

You can find more information on Allied Medal Hangers’ shipping policies, how many medals each hanger can hold, and how to clean your medal hanger here.
