When our last trip was planned, rooms were completely full. Only a very small amount of hotels had any left. Our party decided to book a room at Coronado Springs due to the Passholder discounts happening there at the time. Unbeknownst to us, Coronado Springs was built as a convention center in addition to being a Disney hotel, and when we booked our room, we selected a business class room. For the two nights we were there, we were living like royalty!
Coronado Springs is a beautiful, moderate level resort. It has a unique Mexican theme and intricate details throughout the area that truly make you feel like you’re in another land.
The main lobby is made of friendly cast members, a gorgeous fountain, and a hidden Mickey.
The business class rooms are particularly awesome. These rooms are located in the building closest to the main one. They’re only a short walk away from food, shopping, the front desk, and the bus loop!
When we got to the resort, we had checked in online, and we able to take our magic bands and go straight to our room. The room was ready for us as soon as we arrived, in addition to being very clean. It had one king sized bed, a single sink, and a separate room with the toilet and shower.
There was also a chest with a couple drawers for storage, a TV, and an instant coffee machine.
The perks to a business class room do not end there. These rooms also provide you access to an exclusive lounge. This lounge is open from 7 a.m-10a.m, and 5 p.m to 10 p.m. You simply use your MagicBand to unlock the door! (This lounge can be a little hard to find, so don’t hesitate to ask a cast member if you get lost.)
During the morning hours, the lounge has a breakfast of dry cereal, various fruits, bagels, toast, and muffins. For drinks, there is milk and an assortment of juices. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine. (You’ve got to get that caffeine in to make it until park closing!) There’s an attendant on hand to assist you with anything you may need.
During the evening hours, the lounge serves cold cuts, hummus, crackers, chips, bread, and other dips and spreads. There are alcoholic beverages provided if you ask, as well as canned Coke products.
All of these snacks are very tasty, and can save you serious money–especially where breakfast is concerned. A breakfast in a table service restaurant can cost a family over $100, even more for a character experience. The breakfast at the lounge comes free with your room rate.
Another great perk to staying business class is the location. Business class rooms are located right next to the main area of the resort, and very close to the bus loop. (Note: There are 4 bus stations at Coronado Springs.) For some families, a bit of a walk to a bus is no big deal, but if you are a family with elderly members, or small ones who are in strollers/tire easily, this is a perk I would not pass up!
Staying business class will cost you anywhere from $30-$70 more per night than a standard room, but if you ask me, it is definitely worth it.
I stayed in the business class this summer. It was great! I like to try new resorts on every visit but we will be coming back and staying business class again! It was well worth the money!
