#DisneyKids Preschool Party: How to Get Chosen and What's Included

by Pixie Dusted Diva

Disney Magic Diva and I were lucky to be selected to host a 2017 Disney Preschool Playdate! One may ask how we were lucky enough to be chosen for this magical opportunity, (as other Divas applied too) and although we do not know why exactly we were selected, we were very happy to be chosen! I want to say we were randomly chosen by email to receive a special invitation survey for Parents of Preschoolers. In order to be considered for the opportunity, one must have at least one child between the ages of 2-5, and be able to plan and host 10 preschool age guest for the playdate from April 1 to May 5, 2017. Also, one must be willing to share the Playdate experience via Social Media such as a personal blog, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest by May 5, 2017. Selection is based on fulfilling the criteria, as well as a “first come, first served” basis.
The survey asks information about your preschooler, your interaction with others such as how you are involved with others in your community and your social media interaction. After you submit the survey you wait to hear back.

#DisneyKids Preschool Party: How to Get Chosen and What's IncludedOn February 24, those who applied heard back that we were selected as hosts. ‘Congratulations! You’ve been selected to be a host of a #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate! We are thrilled that you are among our amazing hosts! Your little ones have big fun ahead of them as you introduce them to the endless magic of Walt Disney World Resort!’ The hashtag #DisneyKids was flying around social media with others sharing their excitement of becoming hosts. We were made aware of a Facebook page to join the community of other hosts to share our excitement of planning our playdates with others. The excitement began as I was stalking my UPS Choice account for a shipping notification that I would have a package coming. As we waited to see what the theme of our package would be, party ideas went through my head!

I posted two videos of the opening of the box on the Tips from the Disney Diva Facebook page showing all our goodies. Inside the box was a Sofia the First suitcase from American Tourister, perfect for my preschooler to use to travel to Walt Disney World resort with. The suitcase was filled with everything we needed to host a fun filled Preschool Playdate with my daughter’s friends.

#DisneyKids Preschool Party: How to Get Chosen and What's IncludedThe partyware included in the kit was a Mickey theme so we kept that theme for the party. Our local dollar store had similar partyware, and red and blue plates, table clothes and Mousekatools (silverware) that went well with the color scheme.

HP Card & Invitation Kit HP has an app and software you can download on the computer to easily create invitations and photocards. The invitation kids included 25 glossy sheets with rounded corners and envelopes, but there were also HP Social Media Snapshot paper for everyone to take home from the party.

Disney themed games included in the kit are games or game ideas including: Magic Match, Character Charades, Fab Fortune Tellers, Hidden Mickey Hunt, Make Your Own Magical Sorcerer’s Hat, Hot Dog Dance Off. These are games on paper that you can play, so you can easily make color copies if you wanted additional copies of the games or wanted to save them for everyone to take home. Magic Match is your typical matching game preschoolers play but with a Disney theme to it. Hidden Mickey Hunt is where you hide mickey heads around your party area and have your friends look for them marking down how many they find. Disney Diva Tip: Target’s Dollar Spot is a great place to find prizes for these games so everyone can go home a winner!

#DisneyKids Preschool Party: How to Get Chosen and What's IncludedEvery party needs food! Playdate recipes are included as playing magical games work up an appetite! Mickey Peanut Butter and Jelly Pinwheel Skewers add a twist to your typical PB&J. One of our favorite snacks at the parks are glazed nuts and included in the kit is a recipe for Copycat Disney Cinnamon Almonds! We didn’t get a chance to try this for our party, but I am dying to try them out to see if they taste just like the park ones we always use our snack credits on. Some other food you can serve for a Mickey Mouse themed party includes Hot Diggity Dogs, Clarabelle’s Chicken Nuggets, Donald’s Cheese and Quackers and Minnie’s Mack and Cheese.
#DisneyKids Preschool Party: How to Get Chosen and What's IncludedIncluded in the playdate kit are vanilla candy melts and sprinkles to make pixie dust popcorn, as popcorn is a favorite park snack of ours too. However, we went with Mickey Magic Wands and used the vanilla candy melts and pretzel rods to make magic wands, but called them Princess Magic Wands. Such a fun activity for kids to make.

As a magical playdate comes to an end, just like a stay at Walt Disney World they thought of everything in this kit. Softsoap was included to help with the cleanup and washup to make sure everyone went home sparkling clean! We had a wonderful playdate with my daughter’s friends and hope to do it again! She was able to go to bed and sleep well with the Finding Dory pillow pet including in the playdate kit as well!

**I received free products to host my party and participate in the #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate, however all opinions expressed in this article are mine and are unbiased in any way. I thank all the sponsors who made this day possible!**
