One devo on a worldwide search (well at least a Disney World wide search) for the best snacks across the four Walt Disney World Theme Parks. There was a lot of competition, and a lot of eating, but I have come to my decision on the must have snacks at Walt Disney World.

My worldwide search began at the most magical place on Earth, the Magic Kingdom! I explored all six lands of the Magic Kingdom and found the best snack in each land. So without further ado here are the best snacks in the Magic Kingdom.

Adventureland- My travels began through the remote jungles of Adventureland. I found two snacks that were worthy of sharing the title for best snack in Adventureland. The Citrus Swirl and the Dole Whip.

Citrus Swirl- The Citrus Swirl is located at the Sunshine Tree Terrace across from The Swiss Family  Treehouse. The Citrus Swirl was inspired by one of my favorite theme park characters, The Orange Bird. The Orange Bird was created by Disney in 1970 for the Florida Citrus Commission in exchange for their  sponsorship of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room.  The Citrus Swirl is an orange slushy swirled with vanilla soft serve ice cream. The blend of the orange slushy and vanilla ice cream is a perfect combination of sweet and tart making it a perfect snack for Adventureland’s tropical theming. The Citrus Swirl costs $4.29 or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Hidden Gem:  If you look behind the counter at the Sunshine Tree Terrace you can see the little Orange Bird sitting atop a box of fresh oranges (pictured below).

Best snacks at Magic Kingdom

Dole Whip- The Dole Whip is one of the most famous snacks in all of Walt Disney World. This snack can be found at Aloha Isle next to the exit of Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The Dole Whip is served in two forms. First there is the standard Dole Whip cup which is pineapple flavored soft served ice cream and costs $4.49 or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan. You can also get a Dole Whip Float which is a Dole Whip served with Pineapple Juice. The Dole Whip Float costs $5.49 or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Tip: If you are looking for a place to sit and enjoy your Dole Whip or Citrus Swirl head over to Tortuga Tavern across from Pirates of the Caribbean. There is usually plenty of seating and gives guests a chance to escape the heat of Central Florida.

Frontierland- Next I mosied on over to Frontierland to find the next must have Magic Kingdom snack, the Jumbo Turkey Leg. The Jumbo Turkey Leg can be found all over Walt Disney World, however I think it tastes better in Frontierland. The Jumbo Turkey Leg is one of the most popular snacks among guests. In fact about 1.6 million turkey legs are consumed in the six Disney parks where they are served. And they don’t call it Jumbo for nothing. Each turkey leg weighs about 1.5 pounds making these the perfect snack for the family to share. I have shared two turkey legs among a family of 4 (3 adults and 1 child, 12 years old). The Jumbo Turkey Leg can be found at the Turkey Leg Cart near the Country Bear Jamboree and it costs $11.75 and is not included on the Disney Dining Plan.

Liberty Square- The next part of my journey took me just over the Liberty Square Bridge to Sleepy Hollow. Sleepy Hollow is famous for its variety of Belgian waffles. My personal favorite and the winner of the best snack in Liberty Square is the Fresh Fruit Waffle Sandwich. This waffle sandwich is a Belgian waffle topped with strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and a Nutella hazelnut spread. The sandwich costs $7.99 and is not included on the Disney Dining Plan. For a more in depth look check out Daisy Diva’s Sleepy Hollow Review.

Fantasyland-  The next leg of my journey took me to Fantasyland, the heart of the Magic Kingdom. Fantasyland is known for having the most popular restaurant in the park, Be our Guest. However there is one nook in  Fantasyland that often gets overlooked, specifically the Friar’s Nook. The Friar’s Nook is located right across from the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train andBest snacks at Magic Kingdom features a variety of Mac and Cheese dishes. Some of the flavors of Mac and Cheese have included Bacon Cheeseburger, Barbecue Chicken, and my personal favorite Pot Roast Mac and Cheese. The Pot Roast Mac and Cheese is creamy, cheesy, and the pot roast is very tender. This is on my must have list for every Disney vacation. The Friar’s Nook also serves regular Mac and Cheese and Hot Dogs. The flavored Mac and Cheeses cost $8.99, while the regular Mac and Cheese costs $7.99. The Mac and Cheese options at Friar’s Nook are not included in the Disney Dining Plan.

Tip: Be sure to check the menu for The Friar’s Nook before heading to Magic Kingdom as the flavors of Mac and Cheese are subject to change.

Tomorrowland-  Next I traveled into the future and looked for the best snack of tomorrow. The winning snack is featured at the Lunching Pad and is called the Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel. That’s right you can have a an unsalted hot pretzel that is stuffed with smooth cream cheese. Is your mouth watering? Because mine is! The Sweet Cream Cheese Pretzel costs $4.79 or one snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan.

Tip: Start your day in Tomorrowland, it usually tends to be emptier in the morning because most people start to the left or head directly to Fantasyland to start their day.

Main Street U.S.A.- My search ended on Main Street U.S.A. The reason I ended my search here is because The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor features a dessert that is the perfect ending to a perfect day in the Magic Kingdom, Mickey’s Kitchen Sink. This delicious dessert is your choice of two hand-scoops of Ice Cream, your choice of hot fudge, peanut butter or caramel topped with whipped cream and two cherries. The best part about Mickey’s Kitchen Sink is that it comes in a kitchen sink shaped like Mickey’s pants, complete with a little faucet. You can even take the Kitchen Sink home and relive your magical vacation moment by making your own Kitchen Sink at home. Mickey’s Kitchen Sink is definitely big enough to share (however if you want one all for yourself go for it!). Mickey’s Kitchen Sink can be found at Plaza Ice Cream Parlor near the end of Main Street by the Hub. It costs $16.99 and is not included on the Disney Dining Plan. Tip: Be sure to check the menus while planning your Walt Disney World vacation as menu items and their inclusion on the Disney Dining Plan are subject to change.

This concludes my search for the best snacks in the Magic Kingdom. In my next article I will show you how to eat like a star as I continue searching the world for the best snacks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
