Recently, we had the opportunity to stay at the newest Disney Vacation Club resort, Copper Creek Villas. I was excited to stay here at the Wilderness Lodge as we haven’t in the past. Mainly for the location as we spend most of our time at the Magic Kingdom with our four littles. The biggest perk we found was the boat transportation to the Magic Kingdom, this was huge for us. If you don’t know I travel with twins, read my article here about traveling with them. As I was writing up a review of our trip, I thought people might be interested in the room. So here’s a peek into our 2 bedroom villas at Copper Creek!

We stayed in a two bedroom villa, the villas are part of the Wilderness Lodge renovated in to DVC Villas. Not to be confused with Boulder Ridge Villas, which are located in a separate building adjacent to the Lodge. Think Animal Kingdom Lodge Jambo House and Kidani Village. You can read my review comparing Jambo and Kidani here. Copper Creek Villas are similar to Jambo actually in the Animal Kingdom Lodge and Boulder Ridge is similar to Kidani as it’s in a separate building.

The villa itself is 1,105 square feet beautifully decorated with hardwood floors that can sleep up to eight people and include all the amenities found in a one bedroom villas along with another bedroom and spacious bathroom. This specific DVC Villa does not sleep 9, like Bay Lake and Kidani as there is not the additional sleeper chair.

One bedroom has a king bed and the other bedroom has two queen beds or a queen bed and a sleeper sized sofa. There is also a sleeper sofa in the living room. The washer and dryer are located outside of the main bedroom along with several storage cabinets. One of the perks of staying in the DVC Villas is it comes up a full kitchen, however the one thing we didn’t really like was the layout of the kitchen as it was narrow and flowed more into the living room not as separate as other DVC Villas. There is however, lots and lots of storage!!! We could easily store our six large suitcases in one of the many closets.

The bathrooms were lovely, we had a tub and a sink in one section of the bathroom that could be blocked off with a toilet, sink and shower in another section. One of the booking categories at Copper Creek is a walk in shower. Having kids, specially infants I wanted to make sure we had a tub to do baths so I did not book the room with the “walk in shower” option. Did I mention though our shower had a rain shower with two shower heads? We had 8 people in our villa, so the extra bathroom space is great for everyone getting ready in the morning.

As far as views, you may get a view of the lobby, the main pool, woods or of the Boulder Ridge Villas/pool. I had viewed rooms on Touring Plans before our trip and decided to request a villa near the lobby. The hallways looked long and far from the elevator so I have to prioritize with my twins who are only one where are room should be. We did find there are two sets of elevators, one in the main lobby and one towards the beginning of the longer hallway of villas.

We always complete online check in, in hopes our room will be ready as soon as possible knowing check in is not until 4 p.m. When we arrived at the hotel at 9 am, we took the bus to Epcot hoping the room would be ready around nap time. When we had enough of Epcot for the day and needed our afternoon break, we hadn’t received our text from online check in so we headed back to the resort to hang out and wait for our room to be ready. Our specific room was not, but we were given a 2 bedroom that was ready, a pool view room.

This room had its pros and cons. Each night we could view the Magic Kingdom fireworks from our balcony, along with the Electrical Water parade. However, it was very very loud, as in we could hear the music from the water parade while laying down in bed trying to go to sleep. Also, the pools stay open until 11 p.m. and we could hear everything from the pools while laying in bed. To some that may not matter, but I travel with four littles, two who nap during the day, and go to bed on a schedule that we try to keep to while on vacation. So while the view was nice, the noise was not. I did like being up higher and further down the hallway, as you get less people traveling past your room. We would frequently enter the Lodge from the busses and turn right. When you do that you are walking past the first floor of Villas. I feel if you stayed on the first floor there would be a lot of foot traffic passing by your room every day as you have to exit the one hallway of villas by going to the elevator and either down your hallway, or down the elevator and through the first floor.
DIVA TIP: If you would like a view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks request a high floor odd numbered room facing the pool.

We had a great stay in our 2 bedroom villa throughout the week. DVC Villas are now provided daily trash service, which was completed while we were at the parks as we return to the room daily for naps/pool time. Our goal is to stay at each Disney Vacation Club property, but we will definitely be back at Wilderness Lodge to try out the Boulder Ridge Villas one stay! The Wilderness Lodge has a lot to offer with table service restaurants, two quick service restaurants, two pools – including zero entry which is huge for us when traveling with infants, a water splash play area.
