And the Winner is... Award Wieners! DisneylandHot dog! Hot dog! Hot diggity dog! Who doesn’t love a hot dog on their Disney vacation? I have to admit that hot dogs aren’t usually my first choice. But once in a while, I do get a craving for a hot dog and when that happens, I want it to be a really good hot dog! I trust Disney to provide good hot dogs!

I may make some enemies with this one but I have to say that I’ve never been that impressed with Casey’s Corner at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. There, I said it! That’s just my opinion. I find them hard to eat and not really worth the effort and mess. I heard about Award Wieners at Disney’s California Adventure but I assumed that it was just California’s version of Casey’s with a different theme.

Award Wieners is located on Buena Vista Street in Hollywood Land right next to Mickey’s Philharmagic in Disney’s California Adventure. The Disneyland website describes Award Wieners as “an all-star ensemble of gourmet, street-style hot dogs and sausages.” You’ll find basic hot dogs, BBQ dogs, chili dogs, and even a plant-based option, all very reasonably priced! For sides, they have their Filmstrip Fries with the option of added toppings. Award Wieners

Diva Tip: Award Wieners is a quick service restaurant with the Mobile Ordering option! Save yourself some time (especially on busy days) and use the Disneyland App on your mobile device to order your meal!

If you choose to ignore my time-saving tip, you’ll walk up to the order window to place and pay for your order. They will then provide you with a pager that will vibrate when your order is ready. Just walk to your right and go around the corner to find a covered outdoor seating area right next to Mickey’s Philharmagic.

I ordered the Uptown Chili Dog which was a surprising $9.99 plus tax. The Uptown Chili Dog is an all-beef hot dog with home-style chili, pepper jack cheese and corn chips served with a side of Filmstrip Fries. This had to be one of the best hot dogs I’ve ever had… anywhere! The hot dog itself was so tasty. The bun to hot dog ratio was perfect and was topped with the Award Wienersperfect amount of topping. Much unlike my Casey’s experiences, this Uptown Chili dog held together perfectly without falling apart or losing any of its toppings. And while it didn’t really look like a lot of food, the Uptown Chili Dog with the side of Filmstrip Fries was really satisfying. Noting my previous statement of hot dogs not being my first choice, I have to say that I could have eaten at Award Wieners every day of our trip and been perfectly happy.

In addition to hot dogs and sausages, there are kids options, funnel cake fries, as well as an array of beverages including alcohol options.

As stated earlier, they are very reasonably priced. At $11.00 plus tax, the most expensive items on the menu are the Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest, Karl Strauss Red Trolley Ale, and the Backstreet Brewery Animation IPA and considering that they are all alcoholic beverages, I don’t think that’s too bad! The most expensive hot dogs are $10.29 plus tax.

Award Wieners is an excellent choice for a quick and reasonably priced meal when visiting Disney’s California Adventure! I would highly recommend that you check it out!
