MVMCP Blog Meet Up

Disney Park Blog Very Merry Meet-Up

By Pink Diva

Pixie Dust was sprinkled over my entry in the Disney Parks Blog Very Merry Meet-Up contest because I was one of the lucky 100 that was chosen to attend.  The meet-up included admission for two into November 10th Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party along with a private dessert party and VIP viewing for the Holiday Wishes firework show.

After a minor confusion on where to pick up the tickets, my husband and I were on our way to the Christmas party.  We have been to one other Christmas party three years ago when we first moved to Florida.  Since we have been passholders for the last few years as well, we decided we wanted to focus on the Christmas Party stuff and not focus on rides or attractions.

Cinderella's Castle at Christmas

TIP: The early Christmas parties have fewer people attend.  There were short lines for rides and attractions.  You can also buy tickets day of for most of the early Christmas parties as well if you decide the last minute to attend.

Upon check-in we received badges with a schedule of the Christmas events.  This was handy to know when things were going on.  The private dessert party was at 9pm, so we had almost five hours from the start of the party until then to experience whatever we pleased.  We rode a few rides that the kids don’t particularly enjoy or can’t do, did the Jingle Cruise, saw Elsa light the castle twice, sampled the free snacks and watched the first parade.

TIP: The first parade is more crowded than the second.  If the weather is good, hold out for the second parade if you are able.

At 9:00pm we made our way to the West Plaza Gardens for the private dessert party.  While we were excited about the party, we were thrilled for a great spot to watch the fireworks from.  Because we ate so many of the cookies that were offered we weren’t particularly hungry.

The dessert party was lovely with red flowers on all the tables and the Christmas decorations all around. Two dessert tables were set-up on one side and two drink stations were on the other.  Water, coffee, and tea were all offered.  The desserts included Mickey and Minnie cupcakes, Mickey-shaped sugar cookies and large bon-bons, and a peppermint mousse tort.  We tried little bites of all of them and they were pretty good.

Christmas Wishes

Christmas Wishes Firework Show

People from the Disney Parks Blog were there mingling and doing interviews throughout the event.  We were able to watch Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration while we enjoyed the desserts.  It wasn’t the best view for the stage show, but we could still enjoy it.

The highlight of the night was Holiday Wishes fireworks.  The West Plaza Gardens are a fantastic spot to view fireworks.  Having the private party minimized the amount of people in the area.  It is very nice enjoying a great firework show away from the crowds.

After the fireworks the winners all received a swag bag containing a Santa Mickey nutcracker and a beautiful print of Mickey as a toy soldier.  I was not aware we were going to get this, so it was a wonderful surprise!

Overall, this was a great experience and I am very thankful I was able to be a part of it.  After this wonderful night, I’m off to decorate for Christmas, bake some Mickey shaped cookies and listen to Christmas music!
