Don’t you love when you stumble upon the unexpected?

Recently in Orlando for business, I had a slight wardrobe malfunction in the airport. A fellow traveler (eager to begin their vacation!) stepped on the back of my shoe, breaking the straps.  Here for only a few days, with very limited clothing options, I had to replace them quickly. I  grabbed the rental car and made a beeline for the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets.

This Simon Center owned outlet mall, conveniently located off I-4, is a short 25 minute drive from Orlando International Airport.  But more importantly, only a 10 minute drive from my final destination, the Disney Springs resort area. I knew I could sweep in and grab a quick pair of replacement shoes for a great price.

EEEEEEKKK!  Hear that? That’s the sound of my brand new shoes skidding to a stop and turning heads…in front of Disney’s Character Warehouse. I was most certainly going to be late for lunch!

Here lying innocently a treasure trove of all Disney souvenirs.  Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line memories all lined up and DISCOUNTED!! Yes that’s right-discounts up to 70% off original prices on the most amazing park and ship pieces!  And unlike the traditional Disney store, this retail location certainly focuses more on the adult buyer.  The bright lights and bold colors of the local mall are replaced with smartly organized displays, wooden hues and easy to maneuver paths. No huge play area or large TV screens to distract you from your main focus, your shopping!

Great clothing options!

First thing to note, all Disney Parks essentials are available at the Character Warehouse for the same prices available in the parks and in retail stores: Disney World tickets, Magic Bands and accessories can all be purchased here.  But more importantly, the souvenir offerings are amazing!

The items with the largest discounts are from previous years.  For example, 2015 Walt Disney World Photo Albums originally sold for $14.95 are listed at  $.049. You read it right, 49 cents!  Ornaments typically starting between $16 and $25 can be purchased starting at $3.99.  And of course you can find clothing, Vera Bradley bags, luggage, magnets and PINS!

So how do you get to the Disney Character Warehouse from Disney? If you have a car, this is an easy 10 minute trip.  But if you have taken advantage of Disney’s Magical Express, you will certainly need to find alternative transportation to the outlets.  Uber, Lyft and Mears taxi services can be taken from your resort.  You can also board a bus from Disney Springs.  The cost of the trip is well worth the souvenir savings!

Also note, there are two Disney Character Warehouses in Orlando.

  1. Orlando Vineland Premium Outlet, 8200 Vineland Avenue, Orlando, FL
  2. Orlando Premium Outlet, 4969 International Drive, Orlando, FL

My name is Patricia, aka Military Diva, and I have a soft spot for Disney Destinations! After a two year post-9/11 deployment, our family was able to reconnect during a Disney World vacation. While counting on time together, we did not expect the touching service we received from Cast Members. We were treated like royalty! It is my mission as a writer for "Tips from the Disney Diva" and as owner of "All for Dreams Travel" to help other families experience their own special connections through travel.
