This is one of the most exciting times of the year for our family-cooler evenings, weekend bonfires and pumpkin spice is here. Football season is upon us and of course, DISNEY’S 2020 MILITARY DISCOUNTS have been ANNOUNCED !!
Thanks to the generosity of the Disney Travel Company, many military families are able to enjoy a hugely discounted Disney vacation. Each fall we anxiously wait for the announcement, hoping we get just one more year of affordable vacations.
On September 26, Disney once again extended their Pixie Dust to all those currently serving, retired or disabl
ed from the military. They have generously extended the military discounts (previously known as Armed Forces Salute) into 2020.

Let’s take a look at the eligibility requirements and details of the 2020 Discount.
Who’s Eligible?
Disney’s Military Discount extends to several groups of service members:
- Current members of the Armed Forces (Active, Reserve and National Guard, Coast Guard, PHS and NOAA) and their spouses.
- Fully retired members of the Armed Forces (Served 20 years) and their spouses
- 100% service related disabled members of the Armed Forces and their spouses
- There are other eligible members involving Gold Star and divorced families that require specific eligibility. For these situations, I recommend contacting your local on-base MWR ticketing agency or Shades of Green.
What Proof of Eligibility is Required?
Eligible guests will be required to show proper ID to purchase tickets. You will also be required to show this ID at room/cruise check-in. Please compare your ID the eligible IDs below.
You must have eligible ID to utilize Disney’s Military Discounts.
Disney World Ticket Discounts
Eligible Military guests visiting Disney World can purchase up to (6) discounted tickets from their local base, from Shades of Green on Walt Disney World or in person at a World Disney guest service ticketing window. One of these tickets is to be used by the service member and/or their spouse. The remaining (5) can be used by family and friends traveling along.
This year there are three ticket lengths and two options available for Disney World Military Discounts!
- 6-Day Military Promotional Tickets
Purchase now through December 13, 2020- Park Hopper Option: $301 plus tax
- Park Hopper Plus Option: $351 plus tax
- 5-Day Military Promotional Tickets
Purchase now through December 14, 2020- Park Hopper Option: $283 plus tax
- Park Hopper Plus Option: $333 plus tax
- 4-Day Military Promotional Tickets
Purchase now through December 15, 2020- Park Hopper Option: $265 plus tax
- Park Hopper Plus Option: $315 plus tax

Shades of Green on Walt Disney World, a deluxe on site resort for Military Guests
I highly recommend purchasing tickets direct from Shades of Green…you receive activated tickets, instead of vouchers, saving lots of time at the parks! Additionally, tickets purchased from Shades of Green and tickets purchased on base are not taxed. Detailed instructions can be found HERE! All tickets will expire on December 18, 2020. No additional black out dates apply.
Disney World Room Discounts
Eligible service members are also offered discounted rooms throughout the Disney World Resort. The available rooms vary by date and resort. If the room or resort you would like is not available, ask to search for different dates!
- Military guests or their spouse can reserve up to (3) Walt Disney World rooms with this discount.
- The actual discount varies by resort and date of travel.
- Guests must call 407-939-4249 or their Travel Agent to book.
- Eligible travel dates include
- January 1-April 13, 2020
- April 26-December 19, 2020
- Suites, with the exception of Disney’s All Star Music Family Suites and Disney’s Art of Animation Suites, are excluded.
Disney World Memory Maker
Once on site, guests with valid ID can purchase the Memory Maker Photo Package for $98! The Memory Maker can be purchased at any Park’s Guest Service desk and will be activated immediately. Guests will be able to download all posed, candid and ride photos as well as ride videos taken on site! (Individual photo pass downloads are $18.95-if you plan to purchase six photos the Military Memory Maker will save you money!) This discount is available for purchase from January 1-December 18, 2020.

Disneyland Tickets
The Disneyland ticket offer is similar to Disney World tickets-Military guests can purchase up to (6) discounted tickets, with one of these tickets to be used by the service member and/or their spouse. The remaining (5) can be used by family and friends traveling along. Disneyland tickets must be purchased from the local base or in person at a World Disney guest service ticketing window; Shades of Green does not carry these tickets.

- Park Hopper Option: $184 plus tax
- MaxPass can be added on site for $15 per ticket per day
All tickets can be purchased Nov. 5, 2019-December 18, 2020.
- Black out dates of April 5-12, 2020 apply.
- All tickets expire December 21, 2020.
Disneyland Room Discounts
Disneyland’s Military Room discount is also similar to Disney World’s offer. Eligible service members can reserve discounted rooms at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, Disneyland Hotel and Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel. Again, the available rooms vary by date and resort.

- Guests must call 800-642-5392 or their Travel Agent to book.
- Book by December 16, 2020
- Eligible travel dates include
- January 1-December 17, 2020
- Some suites and concierge rooms excluded.
Disneyland PhotoPass Collection
Onsite, eligible Military Members can take advantage of the Disneyland PhotoPass Collection for $49. This product will provide downloads of all on site photos, a Dining Photo (voucher to be redeemed online) and a Disneyland Resort Gallery Disk. This is a savings of almost 50%!
Disney Cruise Line
Eligible members of the military can take advantage of amazing discounts on select Disney Cruise Itineraries. The policies are slightly different from the offers for the parks.

- Active and retired members of the military, their spouses, Active Department of Defense and their spouses are eligible.
- Members of the Reserves and National Guard must show active duty orders, dated January 1 of the previous year at a minimum, to be eligible.
- One stateroom may be booked at this offer, no exceptions.
