Having been to many of the themed restaurants at Walt Disney World, I sometimes feel a little let down by the dining experiences at the Disneyland Resort. Sure, Disneyland has some themed restaurants, but nothing as cool as cool as the Sci- Fi Drive In or the 50’s Prime Time Cafe. Nothing that is, until now. Cars Land changed the way I looked at Disneyland dining for sure, with the Cozy Cone Motel and Flo’s V8 Cafe.

The outside of Flo’s V8 Cafe looks just like it does in the movie. There are small details on the outside, from the signs to the gas pumps. On the inside, you are transported back in time with the old music, diner-style dressed waitress and waiters and vintage counter and wall decorations.

This is a quick service restaurant, but a little nicer. There is one line, which feeds into several registers where the “waitress ” or “waiter” takes your order. From there you are directed to another counter where you pick up your food. Meals are served on plates, but drinks are served in disposable cups. Silverware, straws, napkins, and extras such as salt and pepper are available at the back of the restaurant. Silverware is not disposable either. Seating is abundant and circles the ordering area.


Diva Tip: Sit in the area that has a view of the Radiator Spring Racers and you have built in entertainment. Just be sure to not miss the decorations on the walls!  

But, enough about the scenery, let’s talk about the food! Flo’s serves up some old fashioned good eats with a twist. Here’s what the menu looks like:

The food is outstanding. I had the strip steak when I visited and it was juicy and tender, and seasoned with delicious gravy. For sides, I chose the pasta salad and mashed potatoes. The mashed potatoes were creamy and complimented the meat. The pasta salad was nice and tangy, with a crunch of onion and carrot. The dinner roll was perhaps my favorite part of the meal because it was so rich and buttery!

Diva Tip: The meal portions are large. Share a meal and get a dessert cone at the Cozy Cone Motel!
