Planning for Disney World with a party of 10!

By: Jersey Diva Disney World did not know what hit them the first week of December.  Jersey parents (2), Jersey sister and her family (4) and Jersey Diva and my family (4) arrived in Disney on December 1.  As I mentioned in my last article, I was the primary trip planner.  Trying to take everyone’s interests and ages into consideration was a bit tough, but I think it all worked out well.  Day #1We arrived at our hotel, Pop Century, got our rooms and had some lunch.  After lunch, we hopped a bus to Animal Kingdom.  None of us had ever been there and we knew it was a park we didn’t really want to spend a whole day in, so it made for a perfect “day we arrive” park.  Unfortunately, Expedition Everest and Kilimanjaro Safaris were both closed that day so we weren’t really left with much to do.  We did have a reservation for the Tusker House, which we were all less than thrilled with, so after dinner we...

Character Greetings at Walt Disney World

Author: Food Diva One of the most exciting parts of Disney World (for me) is meeting the Characters. I am 28 years old and I still get excited every time Cinderella says “Hi Princess” in her most wonderful Cinderella voice! For our family, its a huge game. How many characters can we meet? My kids aren’t huge ride lovers. They enjoy some, but they really enjoy hunting down the characters and meeting them. We took our first Disney trip as a family in 2009. My big girl was turning 3 and my little bit was 16 months. Those ages can be a bit difficult for character greetings. We prepared MONTHS in advanced by going to youtube and typing in “Meeting {{insert character name}} at Disney World”. By doing this we saw other little kids getting to meet the characters and I believe this REALLY helped my girls get use to the idea of walking up to them. Meeting Mickey Mouse for the First time 2009. We went to our...

Character Breakfast at Cape May

Author: Disney Diva It was so exciting do a totally different Character Meal this February. My daughter and our two good friends, Les and Lisa had a girls’ breakfast at Cape May. Cape May is at the Beach Club resort. We had a car so we just went in and parked, but if you were staying on property you would want to take a bus to either Hollywood Studios or Epcot for your reservation. Make sure that you’re at least fifteen minutes early for your reservation so you can check in on time. Once we got to the host station, we received our little buzzer and had a seat in the lovely Beach Club lobby for just a few minutes. Then our buzzer went off. We probably waited for less than 5 minutes. The restaurant is much larger than I thought it was going to be, and there was a large amount of seating. The dining rooms sport a classic 30’s and 40’s beach theme and there is a...

Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique – Downtown Disney

Author: Canadian Diva Planning an EPIC Princess Birthday for your Daughter? Does your little girl dream of having a Fairy Godmother turn her into a Princess for a day? Does she crave to be indulged in a salon fit for a Diva? Then the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique is a MUST. There are two Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutiques in Walt Disney World… 1) Magic Kingdom, inside Cinderella’s Castle which the Disney Diva has already reviewed HERE.2) Downtown Disney Marketplace inside the WORLD OF DISNEY store. The WORLD OF DISNEY store is the largest DISNEY STORE on the planet. Although you don’t need a park ticket for Downtown Disney, this mecca of shops, restaurants and entertainment, is almost like a WDW park in itself. Diva’s Tip: GET THERE EARLY TO KNOW YOUR WAY AROUND AND TO FIND THE Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. The Salon is located at the very back of the Store. Just look for the Girl’s Costumes and accessory section or ask a Cast Member upon entering. Reserve ahead of time...
