If you are looking for a great restaurant that offers unique eats AND traditional snacks for the less adventurous eaters in your group, then I have found the perfect place for you!  Sleepy Hollow Inn Hearty Fare and Drinks is one of my favorite spots to grab a bite to eat while touring Magic Kingdom.  Located a few steps down from the Hall of Presidents in Liberty Square, it is also the first thing you will see if you head toward Liberty Square from the center cog in front of Cinderella Castle.  That makes it the perfect place to snag a snack to enjoy during a parade.

Sleepy Hollow Side

As expected at Disney, the theming here is spot on.  From the design of the building to the cast member costumes, it just screams early colonial America, and I just love it.  Also, they really embrace the Headless Horseman theme during the fall and around Halloween.

There are two lines for placing your order–one on each side of the building–and then you meet in the middle to pick up your food.  I found the service to be quick and efficient.

There are several options on the menu for both snacking and having an actual meal, but most of the items on the menu count at “snack credits” on any of the Dining Plans.  I am loathe to admit I have never had one of the specialty waffle sandwiches (one is sweet with Nutella and fruit and the other is savory with sweet and spicy chicken and arugula), but I hear good things and am itching to get my hands on that sweet and spicy chicken waffle!  And they are big enough to make a meal out of or share as a snack.  That makes the nearly $8 price tag worth it!

Sleepy Hollow Menu

I have only enjoyed a couple of items from their menu, one of which is the funnel cake which is pretty typical–crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside–liberally topped with powered sugar (or strawberries and whipped cream if you so desire.)  But my favorite item from their menu so far has been the Ice Cream Cookie Sandwich.  I don’t know how they do it (must be the Disney magic), but they manage to keep the cookie warm and the ice cream cold right to the last bite!  The cookies are soft and chewy, and the ice cream is so smooth and creamy.  And did I mention they are HUGE?  That is a full sized plate that cookie sandwich is sitting on, my friends.  This is definitely a shareable snack.

Another benefit of enjoying a snack from Sleepy Hollow is its proximity to Cinderella Castle.  They have a nice little seating area right outside of the food pick up area with lovely views of Cindy’s home base.  It doesn’t get much more magical than enjoying a delicious snack while basking in the view of the iconic castle.

If you haven’t stopped by Sleepy Hollow, you really should.  They won’t disappoint!
