1. Do your research ahead of time: I cannot tell you enough, doing a simple Google search about Disney World and all the different attractions that the parks offer is a good idea, especially when traveling with little ones.  Knowing the height requirements and also the content of the attractions will help when informing family and friends about what their future trip has to offer. 087

2. Make dining and FP+ reservations well in advance! Making advanced reservations is not only going to help guarantee your party a spot in must see/do attractions and restaurants; it is also going to help you have a smooth enjoyable experience.  Also download the MyDisneyExperience Application before you leave for your trip, knowing your way around the app will help you make on the go changes quickly while you are in the park.  Also pay attentions to new updates to the App, the MyMagic+ team is working hard to make changes to the application and new updates are usually available to help the app run more efficiently for you!

3. When you’re in the parks, feel free to ask a Cast Member anything.  From directions to Disney knowledge, Cast Members are very informed, and can also be used as a “free vacation planner.” Cast Members are also very good about knowing the times of events or shows, so if you didn’t grab a Times Guide at the front of the park, the next nearest Cast Member would be sure to help you with all of that information.

4. Open the park, take a break, and then come back. Being in the parks all day is very stressful, and exhausting.  Opening the parks not only cuts down wait times on many attractions, it also is a different experience for many.  It is one of the few times that the park is near empty, and can lead to good photo opportunities.  For example, whenever I traveled to the Magic Kingdom, I would arrive around 8:40 to catch the 8:45 welcome show, and then head to some of my favorite attractions such as Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Peter Pan’s Flight, and The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.  A must see for me is the Festival of Fantasy Parade which happens at 3 o’clock, I would usually catch that parade in Liberty Square then head out of the park for my afternoon break.  After a quick nap or swimming break at the hotel, this is a good time to head back to the Magic Kingdom, or another park is you are the park hopping type!

5. As Crush would say in Finding Nemo the Musical, “Just go with the flow.” Exploring the parks with family and friends can be a great time, but it can also be very stressful.  The biggest key is to not feel like you are on a schedule. Even though your day may be filled with FastPass+ and dining reservations, one does not need to rush.  For FastPass+ users, make sure you utilize that one hour window option, it makes time in the park feel much more laid back.
