Christmas and Disney are two of my favorite things in the world so imagine how excited I was when I found out I was going to be able to go to Disney World while it was decorated for Christmas!! I had been to Disney  World the past two years  for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, but I was beyond thrilled to be able to go at  Christmas time and see Cinderella castle lit up with Christmas lights. This had been on my bucket list for years and I have to admit I was not disappointed- in fact I got a little teary eyed the first time I  saw the lighting of the castle.  I was also able to attend Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.  Even though it is not quite as spectacular as Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, it is still a great special event that is fun for the whole family.  We love seeing our  favorite Disney friends decorated in Christmas outfits as they come by  in  Mickey’s Once Upon a Christmastime Parade which also has  a special appearance from Santa Claus. Parades are one of my favorite things to see at Disney World and the Christmas parade is definitely a favorite of mine.

Instead of trick or treating there are different areas throughout the  Magic Kingdom park where you can get complimentary cookies and hot cocoa. There are also special character meet and greets, which my family and I loved. It even snows on Main Street!!

There is a Christmas show located at Tomorrowland Terrace featuring Buzz Lightyear, Mike Wazowski and Stitch. Plus a special dance party at Club Tinsel.  These are a lot of fun, especially for the kids. There is nothing  like your child (or even you) getting to dance with one of their favorite Disney characters.

Of course a  party at Disney World wouldn’t be complete without a special light show on the castle and holiday wishes fireworks. If you love Christmas [BRACELET]  like I do you won’t be disappointed by the Magic Kingdom or Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.

***I attended the Christmas party before the “Frozen Frenzy” started and there will be changes for the 2014 Mickeys Very Merry Christmas Party which include Frozen characters in the parade as well as a lighting of the castle by Elsa.  Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party takes place on select nights from November-December and requires a separate admission ticket. TIP: Be sure to purchase your tickets early for a discounted price.

Additional Diva Tips:

The holidays can get busy at the parks, so plan accordingly. Get there early. Make sure your Fastpass + is all booked, make your dining reservations as early as you can and take frequent breaks from the crowds to keep yourself sane.

Be sure to check out the holiday decorations at the hotels. Take a holiday hotel tour!
