What a great and relaxing 5 minute ride , (approx.),  to go on.

Nestled back in the New Fantasyland expansion , is Ariel’s castle  which houses the Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid ride. You start by walking the path that leads you to a cave past a nice waterfall and into the caverns that were carved into the cliff sides.  It resembles the rocky shoreline along the ocean shoreline.  As you walk further, it is like walking on a secret path and the excitement builds from the sense of adventure and suspense of a new ride!  The further you venture in the caverns, there are various sections that can be open for when lines are long.  Fancy lantern lights hang from the ceiling.  When you are even closer to the boarding area, you will encounter artifacts and various other items with a holographic blue crab inside items. If you put your finger near the glass, he runs away!

The adventure begins by boarding clam carts that form a continuous train. These are the same type of  used in Finding Nemo ride at Epcot  and the Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan at the Magic Kingdom.

I personally feel Disney has done a great job in creating the feeling of being under the sea, telling the story of the Little Mermaid and slowly bringing you to where she becomes human. It is very colorful, and has great sounds and animations. The experience is fun for all ages! If you are a guest that enjoys Peter Pan Flight, or Small World, and the Haunted Mansion, add this ride to your list of rides to check out!

We enjoyed it so much on Halloween, this year they had a dress rehearsal to the guests that were attending the Mickey’s Not so Scary Halloween Party , we rode it two times in a row, my daughter and I wanted to ride again, but my 12 year old son said ” no more please.”

One of the rooms you will pass through of the caverns as you can see the carved stone, and the limestone looking blocks and pillars. Stoned floor, and the hanging lantern style lights.

Here is the loading area, you can see the clam shells in the background and the mural on the wall with Ariel sitting. Excitement to get on board!!!

My son checking out the scene in his clam shell, as he is dressed in his hobo costume for Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party.

My daughter and I saying cheese and enjoying the ride on our second time around as we took a break from trick or treating at Mickey’s Halloween Party.  We were disappointed when her brother , didn’t want to go for a third time in a row.

The evil Ursala causing her havoc!   I enjoy her character even though she is the villain.

Kiss the girl scene with Sebastian coaching Eric.

The happy ending !   A great family ride or a romantic ride with that special someone.  Awesome sound and visuals. Very nice addition to the park and the kids and I can’t wait to go back in 2014 and ride it several more times.

Enjoy, I hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
