Promotions! Promotions! And Promotions!! That seems to be the main theme this month. Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resorts are rolling into the Disney100 Celebration and Disney Cruise Line has opened bookings for their inaugural sailings to Lighthouse Point in 2024. In addition, new character interactions have been announced and new and old favorite dining locations are opening across the company. Read on below for a full list of this month’s announcements!
Walt Disney World
Tron Lighcycle Run has begun operating under a soft opening. The official opening is on April 4!
- Park Pass Reservations are still required! Make sure you are booking yours as soon as possible after booking your package/purchasing tickets! You will need them in place to enter any Disney World theme park or to book your Virtual Queues at 7 am!
- Updates and Refurbishments
- TRON Lightcycle/Run began operating for Annual Passholders and special guests this month. Official opening for all other guests was scheduled to begin on April 4, but this new Magic Kingdom attraction has been operating under a “soft opening”. Guests must have a valid Park Pass Reservation and book a Virtual Queue or pay for individual Lightning Lane access beginning at 7 am. Guests who have entered the park and did not book at 7 am can try for the second round of Virtual Queues at 1 am. Additionally, guests eligible for Deluxe Extended Evening Hours can try at 6 pm. THERE IS NO STANDBY LINE FOR THIS ATTRACTION!
- Typhoon Lagoon, one of two Disney World water parks, reopened on March 19.
- Energy Bytes, an all-new snack kiosk in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowland, will open soon! Guests will be able to enjoy small bites that include sweet and savory treats as well as hot and cold beverages.
- Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser voyage dates have been announced for this fall! Guests can now book their sailing on dates through December 2023.
- World Nature and World Celebration are scheduled to be completed in EPCOT later this year. World Nature, encompassing The Land and The Seas with Nemo & Friends pavilion, will also include “Journey of Water, Inspired by Moana”.
- Tiana’s Bayou Adventure creation (Splash Mountain refurbishments) is currently underway. The area will soon see a new water tower, topped with a sparkly tiara!
- New Character Experiences coming soon!!
- Moana-Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park beginning April 22
- Figment-Imagination! Pavilion at EPCOT, summer 2023
- Mirabel-Fairytale Garden at Disney’s Magic Kingdom, fall 2023
- Mickey & Friends will soon meet their guests in Communicore Hall at EPCOT
- Special Events

- Disney Visa Cardmembers can save up to 35% on room bookings at Disney’s Port Orleans Resort-Riverside, Disney’s All Sar Sports Resort, and Disney’s Art of Animation Resort-Family Suites. Availability is limited and dates are restricted to May 14-June 24, July 5-August 19, and August 27-September 7, 2023.
- Public Room Discounts-guests can save up to 30% on rooms from August 21-September 14; save up to 25% on rooms booked July 11-August 20 and September 15-28.
Disneyland
New and exciting happenings at Disneyland!
- Park Pass Reservations are still required at Disneyland. When purchasing tickets, guests will select their Park Pass reservations prior to checking out. And remember, unlike Disney World, guests at Disneyland can add Genie+ service to their tickets at the time of purchase.
- Updates and Refurbishments
- Celebrate 100 years of the Disney Animation Company with a new “Celebrating Disney100 at the Disneyland Resort” guided tour”. This limited-time experience includes an official tour of Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park, an Animation Academy experience, a commemorative photo (digital download) of your group in front of the Sleeping Beauty Castle, a Disney100 Celebration Treat, special “Magic Happens’ parade viewing, and a Disney100 Pin.
- Mickey’s Toontown opened this month, delighting guests with all the new additions to the space! Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway, Cafe Daisy, Good Boy! Grocers, and the grassy spaces where guests can enjoy a “Perfect Picnic Basket” are just a few!
- The Villas at Disneyland Hotel is scheduled to open on September 28, 2023. The property will contain 344 duo studios, deluxe studios, one-bedroom villas, two-bedroom villas, and Grand Villas. Reservations are available to book now!
- Pins and Lanyards for Disneyland Packages can now be picked up at the 20th Century Music Company on Main St, USA at Disneyland Resort. Pins and Lanyards can also be picked up at Little Green Men Store Command in Tomorrowland at Disneyland Park, Julius Katz & Sons on Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure Park, and World of Disney Store and Disney’s Pin Traders near the Monorail Station in the Downtown Disney District.
- Special Events
- Disneyland After Dark: Princess Nite 2023 premiered for two nights earlier this month. Guests have several opportunities for additional After Dark events this spring and summer.
- Disneyland After Dark: Throwback Nite, April 18 and 20
- Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite, May 2, 4, 8, and 11
