Guests who make their way down Main Street at Disneyland may be alarmed to see that almost the entire left side is closed off. If you are looking for your morning coffee and cinnamon roll, do not be alarmed that the Blue Ribbon Bakery is closed. There is a new project in effect that will allow for the expansion of the Carnation Café (which definitely needed more seating). Also seeing an expansion is the Gibson Girl Ice Cream Parlor and a larger kitchen at the candy shop.
At the end of Main Street, where the Plaza Pavilion used to be, is a IMG_1588new expanded version of the bakery called the Jolly Holiday Bakery. This bakery has a larger menu, as well as a nice outdoor seating area.

Upon entering this newly re-designed building, guests either enter a line to the left or the right. From there, guests are directed by a cast member to an open cashier. It has been my experience, in the several times that I have been to the bakery, that the lines are rather slow. This may be because everyone is getting used to this new setting. Just be patient.

The theme of the bakery is wonderful. It looks “turn of the century” and has nice little touches like Merry Cherry Lemonade and Practically Perfect Punch. Guest are also able to see delicious offerings from the menu through glass windows. Menu items include traditional Disneyland bakery options (previously seen at the Blue Ribbon Bakery), such as the Mickey Cookie, croissants, and muffins. Added to this new bakery are more meal options such as soups, salads and sandwiches. The added extra seating outside also makes it a good stop for a quick lunch before heading off to your next ride!
