We recently dined at Raglan Road for lunch, and were not disappointed! Located in Downtown Disney’s “Pleasure Island” area, Raglan Road is an Irish Pub and Restaurant that is very family and child friendly (during the day!). The food is genuinely Irish, and there are four bars which serve Irish, European, and American craft and local beers (drinking age is 21 in the USA).

We dined on a Wednesday afternoon and were immediately greeted by a kind host and seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious, which was a plus, considering we were a party of four adults and three small children. Drink orders were taken immediately and then we were given some time to view the extensive menu! While we looked over the entree options, we were served some complimentary sweet Irish soda bread with a delicious Guinness dipping sauce. It was a big hit for kids and adults, alike.

The menu features everything from pate, scallops, and sausage as appetizers, to salads, sandwiches, and shepherd’s pie entrees. You will, however, NOT be eating a light lunch, and I suggest you plan a lighter dinner following your meal!

I chose the “Sunday’s Beefy Best” Sanger (Sandwich) with a side of Parmesan and truffle oil “skinny” chips. The menu description is as follows:

“Roast rib-eye of beef sliced and topped with horseradish cream, Dalkey mustard dressing with crispy lettuce on a crusty baguette.”

The sandwich was delicious, although the mustard and horseradish cream were almost non existent. I ordered an extra side of the dressings and all was well! The “skinny chips”, however, did not win me over!

Price: $15

My husband and I couldn’t decide between the roast beef sandwich or the Fish n’ Chips, so we ordered both and split them. The fish and chips (which is one giant piece of beer battered fish) was A-MA-ZING! I one hundred percent recommend this if you enjoy fish.

Price: $17 (and worth every last penny!)

Raglan Road describes their shepherd’s pie as a traditional shepherd’s pie with a contemporary makeover. This, too, was delicious, and yes, I sampled this dish as well (gotta give you folks an honest review, right?!).

Price: $17

This would be the Burger ‘R’ Way, listed on their menu as:

“Char grilled sirloin beef burger with bacon, tomato chutney & Dubliner vintage cheddar.”

From what I recall, the tomato chutney was not a hit with our folks, although the side of smoked bacon baked beans definitely was. And an added bonus? The presentation is pretty neat!

Price: $15

The kids menu is  a little pricey for lunch, with the price ranging from $7-$13. Because my kiddos are very young and do not finish a meal regularly, I opted for them to split the macaroni pasta with dubliner cheese. They chose a side of fruit and thoroughly enjoyed it. As with the entrees, the kids meals are also very generous in size, and my husband and I ended up enjoying it, as well! Coupled with the yummy bread that is brought to the table, I would say that typical light eaters would be able to split almost any of the lunches on the kids menu.

So my final review? YUM! But a little pricey for lunch. We definitely enjoyed our meal, but due to the high cost, this would fit in our schedule as a planned, special lunch, vs. a quick filler up. The portions and taste, however, back up the prices, and the atmosphere is very enjoyable. Service is fast and the staff is very kind. Overall, I give you an “A”, Raglan Road!
